How lucky I was to grow up at the foot of these beautiful mountains in the Friuli region of Italy! . Despite the suggestive name (Monte Cavallo means Horse Mountain), it rather derives from the Celtic Keap-al ("high peak"), since it is a mountain that can be easily observed from most of the Friulian plain. in fact, on the clearest days I could see my beloved mountains even when I was studying in Venice.
