Rena OrtegaBarcelona, ES
I'm Renata, which comes from the Italian and means "reborn". But everybody knows me as Rena.
I'm an illustrator, designer and explorer of the world based near Barcelona, between the city and the mountains.
During childhood, I was surrounded by woods, colors and illustrated books and I've realised over the years that illustration is what it gives meaning to my life, filling the world with color and beatiful things and giving people's lives something through my work.
My passion for travelling, nature and exploring the world is what inspires my work, the perfect harmony for me.

This place is special to me because it has opened me the doors to the world of whales and has given me inspiration, good friends, illustration projects, work, contacts, relax, adventures and even an art exhibition at the Húsavík Whale Museum! Every time I’m there, I feel like being home and there is always something good to do! Go see the whales, relax at the sea baths looking at the bay, get inspired by the mountains, a coffee or a tasty lobster soup, explore the town museums, walk around the harbor or near the river, or just breathe and feel that you exist! This is my heart’s home, a place where I’ve always belonged to.
Iceland is one of those places on earth that once you have visited it, it will be one of your top's favourite places in the world! It has everything you can imagine: nature, ice, volcanoes, fire, whales, waterfalls, puffins, beatiful jumpers called Lopapeysa, soup, beer, horses, sheeps, music, party and northern lights! Undoubtedly, one of the most unforgettable places on earth!
Oaxaca, in the south of Mexico, is one of those places where you can enjoy with all your senses.
Coloured houses, beatiful handmade things, amazing and super tasty typical food like mole negro, chapulines, tlayudas, quesillo… spectacular places like Tule, Hierve el agua, Montealbán… Nature, history, textiles, kind people… Everything in Oaxaca is authentic, coloured, special and it still retains the zapotec and mixtec essence that makes this place unique in the world. This map is dedicated to my best mexican friends Lau and Ram, with whom I shared those unforgetable days in Oaxaca.
London is one of my favourite places in the world. I think I can go there many times and I never will be tired of it! I always discover news places to visit, new shops, new pubs, new expositions, new things in the markets... For me, London is a new but very well known city everytime I visit it. It's a place to lose yourself, to enjoy every step you walk, to go with friends, with your partner, even alone... I love London!
When you arrive to Holbox the first time, from Chiquila Harbour, you only can think in one thing: This is paradise! And actually, it is! Calm, happiness, colour and Nature wraps all this island. There you are going to find this secret essence about life that sometimes is hard to find.
Kind people, animals, ceviche, margaritas, seafood, silence, smiles, relax and streets full of colour with its cool paints... this is Holbox! But there is only one thing that cannot be compared to anything: to swim with de WhaleSharks, the biggest fish on earth. They are so big, so calm, so awesome that you'll feel you've done one of the most incredible thing in your life. And don't leave Holbox without visiting Isla Pajaros, a nature sanctuary full of birds and flamingos, and to swim in Yalahau, a freshwater lagoon that yucatan mayas says it is the true fountain of youth! Maybe even you see a jaguar!
This map is dedicated to my Mexican lovely friends (Lau, Ram, Paco, Jorge, Angela and Rodolfo) that helped me on my perfect Holbox tour.

Göteborg is a city opened to everyone, where you can find what you are looking for: shopping, art, relax, nature, food, decoration, music... Walk around it and give yourself the opportunity to discover this beatiful city that surprises every step you Gö.
This map is dedicated to Tanja and Marina, my swedish friends that welcomed me as best as possible and were my guides over the West Coast of Sweden. Thank you for your time and your kindness.
This is my Barcelona. The places I love the most, the ones where I shared the best moments, the best conversations, the best smiles, and the ones I want to share with everyone to make the Barcelona visit more special than it could be.
