Copacabana Princesinha do Mar, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil by justbia
ITI have been born and raised in Rio de Janeiro. Copacabana is without a doubt my favorite place to walk. A place that I lived for many years and that is still my favorite today. The energy of the people, the beauty of nature, the explosion of colors was the reason why Tom Jobim named Copa The Princess of the Sea. Every time I need an injection of energy I visit the streets of Copacabana. Visiting Copacabana always makes me smile, makes me feel that life is beautiful and I always leave the city full of inspiration.
Below I leave the lyrics of Copacabana composed by the genius of Brazilian Bossa Nova, Tom Jobim and I invite you to listen to it. Enjoy!
Tom Jobim
Copacabana
Existem praias tão lindas cheias de luz
Nenhuma tem o encanto que tu possuis
Tuas areias, teu céu tão lindo
Tuas sereias sempre sorrindo
Copacabana princesinha do mar
Pelas manhãs tu és a vida a cantar
E á tardinha o Sol poente
Deixa sempre uma saudade na gente
Copacabana o mar eterno cantor
Ao te beijar ficou perdido de amor
E hoje vivo a murmurar só a ti
Copacabana eu hei-de amar

Valley View Loop in La Grande, Oregon by Sarah Jo Goddard
La Grande, Oregon, USMy husband and I live in a remote mountain valley in Eastern Oregon with our German Shepherd pup and our kitty. We are always looking for beautiful walking spots with lots of steep hills (so that our puppy can get all of his energy out). This loop is the perfect mix of challenging hills made worth it by breathtaking views of the valley. It is a great loop to run as well. On especially beautiful days it is worthwhile to keep climbing up through the huckleberry and rosehip filled forest to the top of the hill where you can linger and take in the 360 degree views of snow capped mountains and Ladd Marsh.

The Crystal Palace Park Walk in London, UK by Natalia González
London, GBI discovered this walk while doing one of the parts of the Green Chain walk in London. It was a surprise to me to discover the statues of the dinosaurs and the Maze. I had seen mazes like that in movies but never in reality so it was super fun to go inside and find the exit. The whole park is kind of magical and it is interesting to imagine the Crystal Palace which doesn’t exist anymore because of a big fire. The only parts remaining from the palace are the terraces and a tiny bit square but you can still imagine how big it was and how beautiful the place used to be.
