Hidden Eltham in London’s Green Chain by Natalia González

This walk in another bit from the Green Chain in London. I used to do this walk to go to Eltham’s swimming pool but didn’t discover Vista field until I did that part of the Green Chain and I loved it. One of the things I like about London is that you can find hidden places where you don’t even feel that you are in the crowded London. You can visit Vista field and The Tarn and be alone. In Vista field you can see the famous London skyline and in The tarn you’ll be surrounded but the beautiful lake and a great variety of birds and plants. Eltham palace is very special as well, it looks like a place from a fairy tale with a bridge and beautiful trees.

I discovered this walk while doing one of the parts of the Green Chain walk in London. It was a surprise to me to discover the statues of the dinosaurs and the Maze. I had seen mazes like that in movies but never in reality so it was super fun to go inside and find the exit. The whole park is kind of magical and it is interesting to imagine the Crystal Palace which doesn’t exist anymore because of a big fire. The only parts remaining from the palace are the terraces and a tiny bit square but you can still imagine how big it was and how beautiful the place used to be.

Magical Inverness by Natalia González

This place is special to me because of the magical feeling you get when you visit Inverness. I travelled there this month with my boyfriend and we loved it. The wild nature is magical itself with lots of trees of different kind everywhere. It’s easy to understand why they have so many stories about magical creatures. Although I didn’t see the Loch Ness monster it wasn’t disappointing, the lake is beautiful and so it was the Ness Islands and all the old buildings like the Chanonry Point Lighthouse or the ancient stones of Clava Cairns. My favourite story was the one about two men who spent the night in Tomnahurich partying with two fairies, the next morning they found out that a fairy’s day was equivalent to a hundred human’s years as they turned into dust when they stepped out of Tomnahurich.
