I spent many weeks in southern Indian in my youth. In the near future I'd love to spend a month touring the 'golden triangle' taking in the stunning forts and multicoloured old towns. And as a Buddhist I'd love to visit Nepal and discover the history and heritage. Sampling the foods of each country would also be a big high light for me too.
As rightly said : ‘There is no winter in Sri Lanka, only monsoon change the light and mood’. The Brief is a garden full of surprises and paradoxes. One of the best examples of tropical garden, it sits hugging the hilly terrain and appears as a civilized wilderness. The smell of soil after a sudden shower, the walk through framed trails of the Heliconias ,the unexpected arrival of the monitor lizard, , the warbling of the Robin and the pecking of the woodpecker , the in between munching of the local fruits, the colorful Poya festival : memories of Sri Lanka will be eternal.
Ahmedabad, in western India, is the largest city in the heart of Gujarat State. The Sabarmati River runs through its center. The city was named after Mughal king Ahmedshah in 16th Century and has got rich architectural history from different time periods.
Nepal, boasting its magnificent Mount Everest, is one of the places every traveler has on his list. Starting from its heritage, culture, and its homely food, no earthquake can ever take away the strength of its beautiful people. To one of the best experiences in my life, hoping to visit this former kingdom again!
If there is heaven on earth than it is only here.. Beautiful city but sad that terrorists from Pakistan keep attacking this place. Beautiful Dal lake with houseboat stay. From Srinagar we drove towards Kargil. One of the difficult war at such altitude was won by India. During winter time temperature goes down to -60 degree. One of the coldest inhabited place in the world. At the end of the day we stayed at Kargil.
On day 2 we drove from Kargil to Lamayuru passing one of the difficult mountain pass called Zozila. Lamayuru is a small beautiful Buddhist town in Ladakh region. From now onwards landscape changed drastically. It became more cold and dry in compare to Srinagar. We danced on the road. Romantic place. Hotel Moonland was one nice little guesthouse with lot of flowers around it! Stayed overnight here.
On day 4 we visited places around Leh. In the morning we went to Hemis Monastery. One of the oldest and beautiful monastery in this region. On the way back we stopped for lunch at dessert view cafe. Very interesting thing about this cafe is that owner of this cafe is an excellent cook and an Archeologist. She has written few books about LEH-LADAKH region. Opposite the cafe was open dry deserted place where we drove our car like a formula 1. Wroom wroommmm. Some of us tried ATV. From here went to Stok palace, one of the current residence of king. View from this place of Leh city was incredible.
