To me, Antarctica is the most special place on earth, because of its indescribable beauty and remote location. I can't find words to describe sitting down on the beach at Desolation Island and watching penguins come and go, so busy in their daily activities. The peace and serenity are matched only by the cool, clean air. Oh, I'm ready to go back now!
This place is special to me because I climbed to the Tiger’s Nest monastery and visited with the monks. It was an arduous, extraordinary journey which will never be forgotten. The town of Paro also features the National Museum of this amazing country, which is filled with friendly people, cows, and dogs everywhere.
Why shouldn’t dogs have their own map? This map of Roswell, GA depicts great locations for the above-average canine: two vets, two groomers, two shopping experiences, and two places to board. Does your canine live in a town as dog-friendly as Roswell?
We visited Mongolia in October, 2019 and it quickly topped my list of favorite places. The warm-hearted people, the feeling of staying in a ger, and learning about this very different culture made the experience unforgettable. Plus, the funny names!
This is an extremely realistic representation of the red planet, including landing locations and schematics of NASA's successful probes. This official map shows global geological formations and scientific features, and more very important and relevant information for those wishing to understand Mars. Not to scale, but still very official and important.
Just a few of the more than 500 species of birds to be found in the thrilling Tarangire National Park in Tanzania. This map was a huge challenge because the brightly colored birds sort of pre-empted my color palette. It was fun to try to balance between effective composition and there's-too-much-crap-on-that-map. Hope I balanced okay!
This map highlights a few of my favorite destinations and animals of a recent trip to the Antarctic Peninsula. Stand on a tabular iceberg and be deceived at Deception Island. Can you name the three species of penguin shown? How many different types of whales can you find? These questions and many more can be answered by close inspection of the map of Antarctica!
