THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Seeing a weeping willow tree for the first time as a child was the most magical experience. My imagination was instantly alive with dreams of climbing behind, swinging or hiding on those beautiful vines. I'm still captivated by them as an adult and this landscape depicts how woodlands, forests and meadows appear in my imagination. It comes from a children's story I've written and illustrated about a little boy who is an endless dreamer.

I explored a combination of gouache, pencil, crayons and digital editing to capture those magical hues found in nature.

I'm new to illustration and still learning; this is the first real 'landscape' I've attempted.
