I have based my illustration for THE GREAT OUTDOORS on the beach, as I live near some beautiful beaches. I decided to play further with a Surrealist landscape I had created for a pattern, which has been influenced by Bakers’ videos demonstrating the process of placing Buttercream Frosting on their beautiful cakes, which made me think of the waves at the beach. I love the current trend of Victorian piping with all its intricate details that catch the light, and I enjoy recreating all those wavy lines.
