Growing up in Inverness and the Moray coast the great outdoors meant walks in ancient forest, swimming in water that would these days I wouldn't go into without a wetsuit and eating ice-cream in the car when the unpredictable Scottish weather struck. This drawing comes from a photo I took of Loch Morlich which is fed by the ice on the mountains so it really is cold for paddling.
