Germany & Switzerland, DE
Over the last few years I visited all these places in beautiful Switzerland. I felt in love with the lakes, gorgeous mountains and historic towns. This little country has everything what I fancy: chocolate, cheese, stunning nature and maybe the happiest cows in the world.
Since I had to cancel all my travelling abroad plans this year, I am doing a lot of hiking in my country. This is the fabulous views you get when hiking my favourite valley: Val di Muggio. It's the southernmost valley in Switzerland: wild, unspoiled + full of history. On clear days, you can see Monte Rosa + the Matterhorn.

My local lido is one of my true happy places and it is particularly magical swimming in the off season of early spring. It's a true London oasis, a beautiful 50m pool backing onto Brockwell Park. It is hard to believe you are stone's throw from the urban buzz of Brixton and Herne Hill. I'm not hardy enough to go in without a wetsuit until the dial hits 18 degrees C. The warm-up hot chocolate post swim is one of my essentials.
My Happy Place is the Rhein Riviera in Basel. Here at the river banks is the place where the life happens and everybody gathers. I enjoy the Riviera all year long - to walk when it is cold or to sit there after a swim, grab a drink and some food, draw, play board games, listen to an improvised concert or just to look at the river and the hustle and bustle inside it.
I work in a farm in Sandy Oregon, the fields are overseen by the majestic Mount Hood and my favorite thing to harvest are cherry tomatoes. Sweet little tomatoes come in a variety of colors and they seem to make the trip to my mouth very often.
Some of my favorite Santa Cruz moments always seem to happen on Saturday and usually starts here, at Santa Cruz Westside Farmers' Market! Wonderful organic produce, live music and welcoming energy make this place a great start of your weekend adventures.
Underwater is MY HAPPY PLACE. Illustrated from a memory of one of my earliest scuba dives in Red Sea, Egypt. A school of long yellow fishies were curious and came to say hello, while all around colourful marine life played amongst the coral.
The NC Arboretum is a beautiful place with lots of trails and lovely gardens, but this is my favorite walk to take there with my sweet Josie.
This illustration depicts my love for live music. I’ve been missing it so much and can’t wait to be back there again! So many small venues around the country were at risk due to the pandemic. I was proud to rally with other concert-going fans to raise money to help save some venues from closure.
Just as we are familiar with the phrase a journey of 1000 miles begins with the first step, you could view your art practice as fascinating journey as we explore and expand our creative horizons. This foray into Growth Mindset Land will not be without its ups and downs, but think of the view from the top! // We all face very similar obstacles in our creative landscape, from Forests of Frustration, to Plains of Procrastination, but also marvel at the pretty Dell of Delight with its satisfying results and pleasing progress. // Even at the later stages there could be something that could cause a deviation...or a detour from our path. I’d certainly be mindful of monotony, all the tedious things that crop up, maybe a sense of weariness even though we are so close to our intended destination, the Peak of Pride. // If you have navigated this path then you will have a better understanding of the growth mindset that would have taken place in order to reach that summit. I hope there are feelings of pride and accomplishment because it I know myself it is not an easy journey on some days. // Although you will be called upon to muster up a tonne of courage most days, there are many other creatives undertaking the same journey so you will never be alone, and we can cheer each other on.

To me, Antarctica is the most special place on earth, because of its indescribable beauty and remote location. I can't find words to describe sitting down on the beach at Desolation Island and watching penguins come and go, so busy in their daily activities. The peace and serenity are matched only by the cool, clean air. Oh, I'm ready to go back now!
The pond at Ooms Conservation Area is a great place to spend some quiet time walking, observing nature and sitting down with a sketch book or easel. The area has several walking trails that meander up and down the hilly meadow. At the top is a gazebo and benches for resting and taking in views of mountains and the pond below. In the summer, the meadow is full of milkweed making it a haven for monarch butterflies. The site is great for observing wildlife such as bluebirds, blue heron, eagles, beaver and turtles.
