Stroll in the sunshine through the quintessentially British spa town of Harrogate. After bargain hunting for antiques in The Montpellier Quarter, take afternoon tea at Betty's historic tea rooms. Don't forget to wave 'Hello' to Tarquin the bulldog as he trundles through Valley Gardens stopping to sniff the flowers. www.katybloss.com
The charming town of Stratford-Upon-Avon is the birthplace of Shakespeare and home to many historic buildings. Take a walking tour to see these important sights! Spring is a wonderful time to visit as many beautiful bulbs are in bloom!
I lived in the little city of Dessau in eastern Germany for two years while going to grad school. Along with creating wonderful friendships, I most remember the delicious food, the historical architecture, and the charming rural feel of the surrounding forests.
Haarlem is a charming city just a few minutes by train from Amsterdam. And there is plenty to discover. Visit a museum, explore cute hofjes or take a tour of the windmill. Go for a wander in the nearby Zuid Kennemerland National Park, then be sure to have a tasty craft beer at Jopenkerk or Het Uiltje Bar. Hope you enjoy this little map. I spent many weeks in southern Indian in my youth. In the near future I'd love to spend a month touring the 'golden triangle' taking in the stunning forts and multicoloured old towns. And as a Buddhist I'd love to visit Nepal and discover the history and heritage. Sampling the foods of each country would also be a big high light for me too.
A piece I made for Christina Hess' Illustration Studio class. Each religious figure on the map marks the location of the cathedral it is housed in. The warm colors are inspired by classic Italian ceramic work. Two portraits of Italian sculptors(Bernini and Michelangelo) are featured on the left.
