'A dwarf planet, that's what Pluto is', quipped my 6yo. OMG so the mnemonic 'My Very Educated Mother Just Showed Us Nine Planets is no longer valid!' That messy space is typically a scene at home when we are searching for something. We come across everything else than what we were searching for. Lol!
At the elementary particle level, we humans, animals, plants, the earth, planets, stars and galaxies are all made of almost the same material. When I learned that fact when I was a student, I was very moved by the miracle of the universe. We are definitely part of the universe. We exist in the universe, but at the same time, there is a universe inside us! This is drawn with acrylic gouache, watercolor and colored pens.
Each person will have an especially designed space suit, to which a pet carrier can be attached, if desired.
Your journey can be as long or as short as you wish, because Oxygen is unlimited. This is due to an innovative, built-in, technology in the suit, known as: Infinity Air ! :)
What if a map could be drawn with colored pencils? You could do it in your own way! Where could it lead? Sometimes you just don’t know, you simply feel that wonderful feeling that pushes you to find happiness, even in outer space.
This is my 10 year old daughters map of our Solar System. During this year's lock down she taught herself Procreate (and a bunch of animation apps) She honestly did this all by herself only asking for technical advice. I couldn't be a prouder mama knowing she enjoys her creative time as much as me.
This submission for the Out of This World challenge is inspired by mathematician Katherine Johnson, whose story was featured in the movie, Hidden Figures. I imagine Katherine writing her calculations on the blackboard and at the same time drawing a path on the night sky that would guide the astronauts and bring them safely back to earth.
