More than a decade ago, I studied half a year in León, Nicaragua. For sure, this was one of the happiest times of my life! I totally fell in love with the people, who where so kind, passionate and joyful. I learned not only to get a deeper sense of their culture and language but to live a life far from wastefulness, complaining, jelousy and indifference to others. It was a way of life that shaped me, a way of life I'll never forget. Gracias Nicaragua, mi amor!
My favourite place to go is always open, easy to get to and there is plenty to do!! Welcome to My Imagination - Home of Endless Possibilities!! Relax, get comfy and stay awhile - the view is pretty memorable!!
Whenever I need a break from the rat race of LA, I like to relax and recharge in Maui. There's something about the smell of the air, the warm, welcoming light and the tasty treats that just soothes my soul. This map highlights all of my favorite places and experiences that make this my perfect place to chill.
Detroit holds so many special memories for me, and it is definitely my happy place! I went to college in Detroit, and met so many diverse and incredible people from all walks of life while exploring downtown. From the incredible food to the numerous galleries and venues, it is a city that you could spend days exploring and still not find all of the hidden gems in it. I adore my city and to see it being a place of growth and a thriving source of creativity makes me so grateful to live here and feature it as my happy place.
Arizonans know how to find water - whether it's a secret spot on a river or lake, or in a public park. My favorite place to recharge my batteries is in a park nearby. I like to watch the birds, take my dog for a walk, and enjoy all the flowers! Springtime is perfect for watching migratory birds and celebrating local flora. The prickly pear cacti have beautiful flowers, the saguaros wear flower crowns, and the ironwood trees turn an amazing lavender pink.
Queen Bee Coffee Shop has become such a happy place for me.
Alicia and Micah are so welcoming, so nice, and SO supportive of the local community - including my own ways of trying to give back! I've asked a few places over the years about starting a Drawing Club for kids, and have gotten mixed responses that have all ended up as thanks but no thanks.
When I suggested it to Alicia and Micah last year, it was an instant yes. Bring it on, let these kids come to a free drawing night once a month, do what you need to do. I heart these people so much because they just make Queen Bee Coffee Shop feel like home to me!
If you've been to Queen Bee Coffee Shop in the square in McDonough, Georgia, can you find all the bits and pieces of Queen Bee I worked into this piece?
While we have gone into lockdown again, I’m dreaming of being back at this beautiful park which is the heart, soul and lungs of Bangalore. Sleeping dogs, sleeping humans, frolicking kids, kids being kids, adults being kids once again, beautiful old trees - it has it all, along with a piece of my heart.
Although we are Floridians, my family and I live in the middle of the state so a beach vacation is definitely my happy place. The combination of sun, salt water and sand leaves me relaxed and happy. For my kids, the highlight was taste-testing every doughnut shop within a five-mile radius. Ormond Beach is 15-minutes to the north of the its more famous neighbor, Daytona Beach.
There is no place like home, but this pandemic has given us more than enough reason to be confined within our homes with our family for over a year now. A child learns to walk in a year, so even we are learning to appreciate all that is just around us by now. My 4 year old son and me, we spend a lot of our time reading books, eating, playing or just enjoy the best of Indian summer bloom with Gulmohar's to Laburnum from our house terrace. Are you experiencing simple pleasures of life!
Long walks on the beach may be a hackneyed activity but there's a reason it's a favorite for so many. This long sandy beach is just a few steps from my current hideaway and I love walking there on a foggy or sunny day. It's always exciting to watch the waves crashing and the shorebirds having a feast. You can keep on strolling down to Morro Rock and see the adorable sea otters too!
Here, the association of my village, rents costumes for a selfy at the castle, a walk in the village, a play, a family celebration, an exhibition ... We have costumes from the Middle Ages and other centuries. We also have monks, witches, princesses, knights ... it's Ali Baba's cave!
