From breathtaking Unesco’s World Heritage sites to its astonishing beaches, authentic food, culture, outdoor film festivals, colorful fares, and diverse towns. In this map, I hope to portray some experiences from our 2019 summer trip, including some of the many fun and charismatic friends we made along the way. A “bellissima” experience!
My neighbours are at the same time close and yet far away – everybody stays at home and tries to find pleasure in activities that are usually more fun together, like making music, doing yoga, baking cakes for a birthday invitation and travelling – which has been replaced by dreaming of places. Hopefully everything will be well soon. (I put the phrase in Italian on the map since it became famous when Italy was hit hard by the virus in March).
We all are facing same situation, entire world is living same life. Rather it's India or Italy, New York or Singapore there is one thing common which is hope. In this lockdown period when I look outside I find different people in the balcony. They are attractive, hopeful and looking forward to have a better tomorrow.
12 days, almost a full circle around the coast, active volcanoes, great beaches, amazing architecture, and most importantly, delicious food!
After a month of quarantine I finally managed to commemorate my latest holiday. I've been collecting and admiring map illustrations for ages and I thought isolation is the perfect time to give it a go myself while exploring watercolor as a medium. Big thanks for all contributors here for the inspiration!
*The map is a bit distorted, with the island slightly squeezed on the north-south axis to better fit the layout, thus the lack of scale indication. The yellow dots illustrate either overnight stays or important day trips/transits.
This place is special to me because San Felice Circeo is where I grew up. It is a magical little town just 100km south of Rome where you can do anything you want:from hiking to diving to taste some real Italian foodies! You are surrounded by the sea and immersed in the forests of our National Park! if you go to Rome, you cannot miss spending a day here
This place is special to me because it makes me smile... I was lucky to spend part of my young life in Rome, Italy. Through High School, my best friend Bibi and I would walk to school together wandering through the splendor of the Roman Forum, taking small paths though the ruins. Of course, being a teen, I was not fully aware of the beauty of it all, but I was focused catching up on our feelings about life, love and homework... (and saying hi to the Forum cats, of course!). I went back as an adult and I was blown away by the rich history and amazing-ess of this spot in Rome.
My boyfriend Jim and I have been visiting the Lido di Venezia since the mid-90s! This year we took my sister Salli. We swam and cycled every day. We also took little trips into Venice (a 10-minute vaporetto ride away!) to visit the Biennale and see the sites.
