One of my favorite travel memories is a hiking trip I did through the Greek Islands. While it's hard to choose a favorite stop, Naxos might be it. From the amazing seafood and beaches to it's impressive mountainous terrain and mythological importance, Naxos is a spot worth adding to your dream destinations.
Oia (pronounced eea) is a beautiful coastal town on the Greek island of Santorini. Known for its wonderful blue and white buildings along with awe inspiring sunsets but did you know about the windmills & wild cats? A place I’d love to visit to see for myself.
I had fun getting into the spirit of traveling to Greece. I ordered Greek food, floated in the pool imagining it to be the Mediterranean. I thought about one of my favorite books "My Family and Other Animals", then drew places I'd like to see while sailing. Watercolor and ink on paper, lettering in Procreate.
This map shows where in Greece some of the most famous Greek myths took place. Greece is a big country with so many islands. I thought it would be nice to be able to place those myths on a map. I chose to create a colorful map because Greek myths are often very passionate, colorfully and flamboyant! It can be nice, while visiting actual Greece, to remember where some of the most famous of its myths took place.
Walking tours are one of my go-to experiences when I travel to somewhere new. Learning about the history and getting insights from a local often feels more immersive and fun! While researching for this map, I chanced upon this themed tour - listen to stories about Greek gods, myths and legends while exploring Athens!
