I have always loved Thai floating markets. There is something about the noise and chaos of the crowds, mixed with the many different things to eat, see and buy that makes it an extremely fun way to spend a day. The floating markets are comprised of canals filled with vendors selling things out of their boats. You can either walk along the side and they will row up to you, or you can hire a boat to take you around for an hour. At famous Amphawa Floating Market, Samut Songkhram and Damnoen Saduak Floating Market in Ratchaburi has some amazing and unique markets that I was always excited to visit. Although most of them have gotten a bit touristy, they are still such a wonderful experience that they are totally worth a visit once or more! :)
This is a map of cafes on Angelo Street South Perth, it's hot and sunny most of the year in Perth and a great place to visit if you get the chance. You can see reviews of the cafe scene in Perth on frenchtoastandindiepop blog.
This map for a square foot Salad Garden includes my some of my favourite herbs & vegetables (and some flowers for the bees, too). If you have a sunny balcony, the square foot method could be modified for container gardening (one square = one 12"pot?).
No one knows why Rhode Islanders have a culinary fixation with "New York System" style skinny hot dogs, but they are a mainstay of an ocean state diet (along with quahogs and coffee milk). Don't pass through little Rhody without a stop at at a local weinie joint!
So much hidden history in the small Pork Pie town!
