Winter solstice inspired me to make this map of 'my' Veluwe on a long and dark winter night.

Being a bird lover, it's wonderful to live so close to Lake Michigan, one of the major stopping points in the country for migratory birds. Located a little over an hour outside Chicago, the Indiana Dunes region of the Lake Michigan Shoreline boasts over 350 species of birds that can be seen throughout the year. Birders from all over visit during spring migration for the Indiana Dunes Birding Festival each May.
I chose to create a map from my personal experience of running in Philadelphia. I targeted the most popular and eye-catching places and environments to run through! It was such a fun time creating this map and I hope it inspires people in the Philadelphia area to try out these great trails! National Park Hoge Veluwe is almost my extended back yard ;) You can find me there at least once a week, spotting wildlife, making hikes and taking photographs, or trail riding with my horses.
Fall is really a great time to visit the park! I love the crisp air and the colored leaves. The park's landscape really is unique and definitely worth a visit when you're in the Netherlands!
This is one of my favorite places to go trail riding. National Park Veluwezoom is one of the Netherlands' biggest National Parks.
Forests and heathlands are kept open by grazing of highland cattle, sheep and wild horses.
You really should go and see it when you have the opportunity! It's absolutely stunning and an original addition to our list of Dutch
