My crazy-covid days have been swinging wildly between chaos and order. This whimsy illustration shows a typical day in my current life - and sometimes I don't even realise the day I am on!
I have ended up with new routines and a newer meaning to my mantra 'one day at a time!' But I am so thankful I have my time to draw and create - that's my happy space where I connect, explore and discover something new every day.

My current reality is walking. Walking and walking and walking my neighborhood. I see the changes that people are making to their homes and the flowers that are starting to bloom. The trees have gone from sticks covered with snow to green buds. The birds are new and the wildlife is preparing for their new families. I listen to podcast and wave to my neighbors. This moment holds a lot of beauty.
During my time at home during COVID-19 in 2020, I’ve spent a lot of time researching recipes, finding recipes for the ingredients I have in the house, and on Zoom or online meetings. This illustration is a fun expression of both for the Mapping This Moment theme.
I started this map before lockdown, initially showing some interesting places to visit. I live in the CBD. Auckland and NZ is heavily reliant on tourism. The outline of the boat in the harbour is a ghost as are the hotels in the city. We are on level 2 alert, so things are almost back to normal. 49 known active cases in our country today, 16th May, out of 5 million inhabitants.No group gatherings of more than 10 are permitted, with the exemption of funerals. This is probably not quite to brief, but here I am. My first map.
This is a compilation of the different versions of myself since the quarantine started. Some days I'll be super productive while other days I can barely even get out of bed. It's been a strange couple of months but I know we're all doing what we can to get by.
During the lockdown I am often not sure which day it is because every day is like the day bevor. I developed a daily routine which helps me to stay physically and mentally healthy and to make the current situation more comfortable and pleasant.
The way I perceive the day to go as an ebb and flow is stacked against the reponsibilites and demands of life with kids at home.
