This gorgeous area on the Southern California coast is home to some of the rarest pine trees in the world. It's a wonderful place for a walk, either on the bluff trails or along the beach.
Between Concord and Walnut Creek, CA, sits Lime Ridge Open Space for walkers, hikers, and mountain bikers to enjoy. It's wild land so we see coyote and snakes. A herd of cattle work 24/7 to keep the grass short to mitigate fires. We hike a 3 mile loop (our legs never looked so good). At the summit of this section we get views of Suisun Bay, three cities, a long range of high hills, and Mt. Diablo, one of the highest peaks in the region. Spectacular!
Stanley Park is one of the largest urban parks in Canada and is only 10 min from my home. There are a lot of things to see. My Favorite route is a walk from Second Beach to Brockton point. You can't miss the features on this way! Meet Raccons near the Lost Lagoon, the flowers on the Rose Garden , and see the view of the North Vancouver from the lawn close to the Brockton Oval. Some Restaurants , Vancouver Aquarium and other attractions are temporarily closed, but you can Enjoy the fresh air and the giants trees right now!
I have been born and raised in Rio de Janeiro. Copacabana is without a doubt my favorite place to walk. A place that I lived for many years and that is still my favorite today. The energy of the people, the beauty of nature, the explosion of colors was the reason why Tom Jobim named Copa The Princess of the Sea. Every time I need an injection of energy I visit the streets of Copacabana. Visiting Copacabana always makes me smile, makes me feel that life is beautiful and I always leave the city full of inspiration.
Below I leave the lyrics of Copacabana composed by the genius of Brazilian Bossa Nova, Tom Jobim and I invite you to listen to it. Enjoy!
Existem praias tão lindas cheias de luz
Nenhuma tem o encanto que tu possuis
Tuas areias, teu céu tão lindo
Tuas sereias sempre sorrindo
Copacabana princesinha do mar
Pelas manhãs tu és a vida a cantar
E á tardinha o Sol poente
Deixa sempre uma saudade na gente
Copacabana o mar eterno cantor
Ao te beijar ficou perdido de amor
E hoje vivo a murmurar só a ti
Copacabana eu hei-de amar
I discovered this walk while doing one of the parts of the Green Chain walk in London. It was a surprise to me to discover the statues of the dinosaurs and the Maze. I had seen mazes like that in movies but never in reality so it was super fun to go inside and find the exit. The whole park is kind of magical and it is interesting to imagine the Crystal Palace which doesn’t exist anymore because of a big fire. The only parts remaining from the palace are the terraces and a tiny bit square but you can still imagine how big it was and how beautiful the place used to be.

Los puentes colgantes son los protagonistas del recorrido. A lo largo de 3 kilómetros, podrás disfrutar de este espacio verde que atraviesa la ciudad.
This is a bite-sized walk, part of Portland’s amazing Trail system... it’s just enough for a quick dog walk, to see flowers, trees, birds, or catch up with a friend (there’s something for each season!)- A shot of nature nestled in our little city.
I come from the Italian Apennines and spend much of my time over there at my grandma's home. One of the things I've always loved the most is taking a very long walk across the valley on Sunday mornings that starts from home to Bedonia, a town in the center of the Taro valley. It's a long walk into the green fields and a lot of fresh air at the edge of the wood. It's not unusual, during the walk, to meet hedgehogs and sometimes even deers or a fox.
Once in town I go get focaccia bread, have a walk around the colorful houses and tiny streets and go back home ready for lunch after a 10 km walk and many hills. I have happened to walk even further along the river, up to Compiano's Castle, but then after a couple of times I realized it was a little too much for a morning walk..!
As a family of 5, we love exploring all of the local (and not so local) outdoor hiking opportunities in and around Illinois with our girls. Spring Valley in Schaumburg, Illinois hits all the buttons for us: epic play area, prairies and trails lined with blackberry and black raspberry bushes in June and July, an awesome Nature Center, covered picnic areas, a heritage farmstead with animals and BONUS-- it is all FREE to explore and enjoy.
This is based on the walk I planned for our 3 day Chicago trip and this map shows the walking tour we did on one of the days.
Sefton Park is a popular place for stroll within the city of Liverpool. Its bandstand was said to have influenced the Beatles song, ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’. The Palmhouse is an iconic Victorian glasshouse and the boating lake is home to a variety of ducks, swans and even herons. You must throw some coins into the waterfall pool at the Fairy Glen and make a wish -then go to see how many creatures you can find engraved in the statue of Peter Pan! No wonder it’s a family favourite place to visit on Merseyside.
Every Sunday is a great adventure for the little twins! After a while exploring and discovering Sherbrooke's downtown, they defined an amazing circuit with incredible stops. As a token of their gratitude for this adventurous walk, they have added two stops specially for their parents. It can be a challenging walk, but at the same time very pleasant for the whole family. The twins highly recommend it!
