The Wylde Center Garden Network stretches across Decatur, and now includes small satellite gardens in all Decatur city schools. The garden network is a stronghold of community and service, so I found it important to represent it with colors and style that communicate friendliness and growth.
This place is special to me because this beautiful Balearic town evokes sweet memories and time spent both daydreaming and making important life decisions. It feels like a safe cocoon for one to take time and explore all the options ahead while being inspired by the colourful food and design that awaits in every restaurant, gallery & shop. Palma for me represents freedom, possibilities and abundance of life itself!
Located on the northern tip of the Lower Sunshine Coast and built next to a Lagoon, this wetland reserve is where my kids and I love to explore wildlife, pond creatures and the birds on the trails.
My cousin Kirsten and I meet for breakfast about every three weeks. For years, we went to the same two or three places. About two years ago, we decided that we would try a new restaurant every time we went to breakfast. This map is a record of the restaurants we tried out in the past two years. The limiting factor (being Los Angeles) was traffic, so we mostly went places between our two houses in the west end of the San Fernando Valley.
In 2015, our family of five left our home country with nothing but carry on luggage in search of some adventure. We landed in Kaohsiung and ended up calling it home for 3 years. From the buzz of city life to the peacefulness of nature, you'll find it all within Kaohsiung. The public transportation is excellent, it's very safe, the food is amazing, the people are unbelievably friendly, and best of all you can spend the entire day running around the city very inexpensively. This map focuses specifically on the Yancheng and Qianjin Districts in the southern part of the city. Long ago considered to be the "downtown" Kaohsiung, the area holds many old style Taiwanese homes and monuments that the northern parts of the city are lacking. Recent revival efforts have brought in some more modern, artistic elements giving visitors the best of both worlds. Whatever your travel habits may be, Kaohsiung has something to offer all travelers.
Growing up, I spent every summer in Taipei. The metro was, by far, the best way to get around--it's affordable, efficient, clean, and easy to use! I highlighted popular attractions around the main metro lines to help you plan your next trip to the Taiwan, the heart of Asia.
This place is special to me, there are sweet memories when I was a teenager. I like to walk on the beach in sunset, exploring the island with my friends, and have a good tropical night party. Nusa Lembongan is an island located southeast of Bali, Indonesia. It is part of a group of three islands that make up the Nusa Penida district, of which it is the most famous.
This place is special to me because it holds many great memories for me and it is where I met my closest friends. It will always hold a special place in my heart. It also has many great places to visit and is famously the home of the Beatles.
This place is special to me because I moved here blindly for an internship and now 2 years later, I have fallen in love with this amazingly little city. I didn't know what I was moving to - wheat? Cows? There's that if you drive out long enough, but turns out there's great food, great beer, and an amazing art community right outside my doorstep. It's been pleasant surprise every single day!
This place is special to me because of all the fun times I have experienced with friends here. Harvard Ave is bustling with food, thrift shopping, markets, furniture stores and beauty salons. When ever me and the girls want to get together for some quality time together we all meet up here and spend hours just walking around. Some of my favorite places are marked on this map and if you find yourself in Boston I highly recommend stopping by!
Chincoteague is a magical place for those who have read the beloved story, “Misty of Chincoteague.” The original illustrations were done by one of my personal favorite illustrators, Wesley Dennis. Wesley brought the story of Misty to life. I grew up with those illustrations and when I visited Chincoteague for the first time, I felt like I had been there many times before. I have painted in many plein air events in Chincoteague and I feel that I know these islands pretty well. When it came to doing this map, it was a personal goal to convey my love of this special place.
