I visited Bryce Canyon years ago and I still remember it clear as day! If you're ever have the opportunity to visit it, take the trip! It's an indescribable experience.
My hometown of Leesburg, VA has a cozy little historical district full of nice spots to just spend an afternoon or evening in. Whenever I go back home, my friends and I almost always end up back at these places, which all have a lovely small-town feeling.
The Highline Vault is, by far, the most interesting park I've ever visited. Formerly covered in railroad tracks, now adorned with a plethora of flora and benches. Between the local outdoor art, the various pedestrians, and the colorful history surrounding the area, it's hard not to fall in love with this Park and everything it has to offer. With this map, I wanted to convey the joy and wonderment I felt my first time at the Highline Vault.
Small kitchens, greenhouses, markets, bakeries, butcher shops and tap houses are literally everywhere in the quirky Cleveland neighborhoods. Cleveland’s food is a reflection of the people who grow it, make it and eat it... and that reflection looks pretty cool to me. I’ve chosen to map just a few of my favorite spots to grab a bite to eat in this off beat city that I love so much.
I spent the decade of my twenties living in coffee shops in Philadelphia. I'd seen a lot come and go, but these are ones that have seemed to stand the test of time. Created for Rebecca Bradley's Illustrating Maps & Places class at the Maryland Institute College of Art, this illustration is my way to celebrate coffee shop culture.
For Rebecca Bradley's Maps class at Maryland Institute College of Art, I had to pick one of my favorite places to illustrate and map out. I chose what is known as "The Avenue at White Marsh" in Maryland because it is a place dear to me. I chose to illustrate the dining and shopping locations, and of course the movie theater, which is a big attraction there. It's just a great little place to relax and hang out!
This is a map to show areas around Oak Ridge, Tennessee that you can explore outside of the town. Growing up in Oak Ridge, it was very easy to get stuck in the town, but there were always great areas to get out to in the countryside surrounding the town.
