My cartographic company, Tom Lamb Maps, is currently located in Highland Park. This is a cropped version of my Highland Park map, and I've also created hand-drawn maps of other L.A. areas (more cities coming soon!). I received your book as a gift, and happy to find your site!
I'm very lucky to call this sunny beachtown home. It's not just the beaches & parks, it's the hidden coves and secret trails that take you to some incredible places. Ventura is most fun if you're up for a bit of an adventure! (And we have the best food when you need to take a break from all that exploring~)
Through years of searching, I have found not only the top five places to get sweet treats in Philly, but also the top items from their menus! Skip the familiar places on the tourist radar, and venture to these locations... I promise you won't be disappointed!
Named from the Ute Indian word for ‘deserted valley’ Hovenweep National Monument is a set of six Ancestral Puebloan village ruins dating from AD 900-1300 on the Great Sage Plain where Utah and Colorado meet near the Four Corners.
Wonderfully remote and quiet (no cell phone coverage, no wi-fi, one paved road) the monument averages only around 25,000 visits a year and the majority of them only to the Square Tower Group built around Little Ruin Canyon.

Colorado Springs is a town sitting at the base of Pikes Peak, part of the Southern Rocky Mountains. It's a military town peppered with bases, facilities, relocating families. I was born and raised there at 6,000ft above sea level. Here are some of my absolute favorite places to go growing up in The Springs. All of which are still around.
I have always loved whales. They're my favorite animals. Over the past few years I've become very passionate about preserving and protecting these gorgeous creatures. I believe that tourist boats are a potential danger for the mammals and the ocean, so if you can see them in their natural habitat from a safe distance then everyone can enjoy life to the fullest! Virtually anywhere on the coast is a great location so these are just a few places to view Humpback Whales and other marine life from the shore.
If it's inspiration, creativity and uniqueness you seek.. You have come to the right place! Stroll up and down Pearl street pedestrian mall, where you will spend hours upon hours soaking up creative inspiration from local artists. Grab a cup of coffee at The Laughing Goat and a bite to eat at The Med ( excellent happy hour!) If you're in need of an inspiring conversation, walk down to any corner and chat it up with a hippie and see where they're on their way too. If you become friends, go grab a brew at the Twisted pine brewery where they're always trying something new! Boulder- never a dull moment!
