I'm preparing for a research trip in spring 2012 to study seabirds and living environments in some of the Scottish Isles. This is for a graphic novel I'm working on: a fairy tale about a special relationship between a girl and an unusual bird for the area: a swan. TDAT gave me the perfect excuse to plan my route.
This bicycle route follows the Deerfield River through a beautiful valley in Northern Massachusetts and Southern Vermont. If you go on a hot summer day you'll see lots of people tubing down the river, which, I must admit, is an even better way to enjoy this route!

For your next trip to Venice I highly suggest staying on Lido! You can bike and swim everywhere. It's like a big, beautiful, tropical Italian paradise. And, if you must go to Venice, it's only a 12 minute vaporetto ride away, but trust, one taste of Lido and you might not need Venice!
