We tend to do a lot of day trips. The Niagara region isn't just about Niagara Falls and all of the "touristy kitsch". There are so many family friendly things to do, from Happy Rolph's to the Botanical Gardens - - do NOT forget your camera!
This is a map of the infamous Mumbles Mile. A collection of pubs along the seafront in Mumbles, Swansea. There used to be over 20 pubs but as the years have gone by unfortunately many have closed. The year 1997 is the year that I met my husband and the last year that I remember doing part of the mile as soon after we were blessed with my eldest daughter. It still holds many memories as I'm sure it does to the many people that used to frequent Mumbles in the 90's.
I have always loved the architecture in this city. New and Old. Spanish design is so sensual and inviting. Welcoming. All those curves! If you like to picnic, the top of the hill at Junipero Serra has great views, but my favorite little park is down below, off of Taylor street. The trees are so pretty and it is a quiet little haven in the middle of the city. OK you might have to imagine the quiet part, but it will be one of your favorite spots too if you visit! At the Children's pool you can walk out into the crashing waves.... and more than likely you will get wet! Great on a warm day!
Reykjavik holds a great combination of historic Viking history and modern art, music and food. Reykjavik is a small enough city where it is very simple to walk and get around and on one stroll you can see a statue of a Viking slaying a dragon, eat a very unique Icelandic hot dog and see some beautiful modern architecture. At 66 degrees north, that is just the tip of the iceberg (so to speak).
