Soulac-dur-Mer is a lovely french village closed to Bordeaux. On the first weekend of June this small town turns back time to the beginning of the 20th Century: there are decorations and shows everywhere, people dress like they did at that time and drive vintage cars or horse-drawn-carriage, at the station you will find a choo-choo train with it's steam locomotive
Leiden is a beautiful, historic and walkable city in the Netherlands near Amsterdam. With lots of water you can rent your own electric boat, row one or take a tour. In Summer there's the 'Leidse Lakenfeesten' with wonderful events on the water, there's the 'Jazzweek' and '3 oktober': the city keeps celebrating. It's smaller than Amsterdam, which makes it feel more cosy to walk through and enjoy the beautiful and fun sites. Leiden is 'gewoon gezellig!' When in Holland, you must visit!
We tend to do a lot of day trips. The Niagara region isn't just about Niagara Falls and all of the "touristy kitsch". There are so many family friendly things to do, from Happy Rolph's to the Botanical Gardens - - do NOT forget your camera!
This is a map of the infamous Mumbles Mile. A collection of pubs along the seafront in Mumbles, Swansea. There used to be over 20 pubs but as the years have gone by unfortunately many have closed. The year 1997 is the year that I met my husband and the last year that I remember doing part of the mile as soon after we were blessed with my eldest daughter. It still holds many memories as I'm sure it does to the many people that used to frequent Mumbles in the 90's.
