This is a map to show areas around Oak Ridge, Tennessee that you can explore outside of the town. Growing up in Oak Ridge, it was very easy to get stuck in the town, but there were always great areas to get out to in the countryside surrounding the town.
An American treasure, the Erie Canal was opened in 1825 and soon became the nation's first superhighway allowing settlers access to rich and plentiful land resources. This illustrated stretch – from Brockport to Rochester, NY – depicts the Canal and surrounding countryside as it is in the present day. Every crossing has been carefully portrayed, right down to navigational lights underneath the bridges. And if you look really hard there's even apples on the trees! The Eden Project is a bunch of huge greenhouse-dome things in Cornwall, that have amazing rainforests and all sorts of cool plants and sculptures inside. They sit in a hollow in the hills, and at night they glow gently like giant fireflies.
Madagascar is home to such an amazing array of exotic and beautiful wildlife. This map represents only a sample of just the reptiles that are at risk, not to mention all the mammals, birds, fish, insects and plant life that are also threatened.
The rail trail passes through the Hoosic River Valley, between the Mount Greylock and the Hoosac Mountain Ranges. The name Ashuwillticook (ash-oo-will-ti-cook) derives from the Native American word for the south branch of the Hoosic River and means "the pleasant river in between the hills."
