The Blanch Ranch of California by The Joyful Artist
Agoura, California, USDuring this stay-at-home era in California, my homestead has truly become my heaven on earth. Nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains amidst the “Three Magical Miles”, our beloved Blanch Ranch is always buzzing with activity and life. The trail of bees around my home represents my daily stroll - from the labyrinth to the apiary, the Ranch is ripe with sunflower patches, vegetable gardens, log hives, and wild peacocks. On any given day, you are sure to see bikers on Mulholland Highway zipping down to the beach, or a zipliner dashing to and fro from the Adventure Haus. The view from the hilltop art studio inspires much creative joy, and reminds me to take one step and one day at a time.

Exploring My Favorites In Morningside Heights, New York by shiodrawing
Tokyo, JPThis map introduces some of my favorite places in Morningside Heights, NY. I lived in this neighborhood for about two years when I was a student. There were a lot of hard times during my school times, but these amazing local businesses helped me to survive tough times. All of them are loved in the neighborhood and I really want to support them to survive this global pandemic. So, I drew this map to show my supports and appreciation.

City of Tulsa, Oklahoma by Alex Savakis
Concord, CA, USWho knew Tulsa has the third highest concentration of Art Deco architecture in the U.S. behind NYC and Miami? I didn't until I asked a friend to tell me about Tulsa. She moved there to attend college and stayed. The 3-mile walk from the Center Of The Universe passed the "Artificial Cloud" sculpture to Boston Ave United Methodist Church will take about an hour to complete. South of the city center you'll find "God Mod" architecture on Oral Roberts University campus, an architectural style unique Tulsa. Seriously, Tulsa is an unsung architectural mecca. Road trip!

Walking Camino Ingles from Ferrol to Santiago de Compostela, Spain by Katie Kerpel
Alameda, California, USIn the fall of 2019, I walked the Camino de Santiago from Ferrol to Santiago de Compostela (known as the Camino Ingles). Highlights included taking a detour and meeting up with friends in the Fragas Do Eume, walking before the sun rises, and making many cat friends along the way. Also just past Bruma, inexplicably, there's a dinosaur by the side of the road. It was a great experience and I would like to walk a longer pilgrimage one day.

A Walk in Venice among Cats and Lions by Sara Tassan Mazzocco
Aviano, Friuli, ITWHERE WE WALK Map Challenge. Don't get me wrong, there are many more cats and lions in Venice, but relying on my memories I have chosen to represent those that have remained in my heart. The walk illustrated on the map goes from the Accademia Galleries (near the Academy of Fine Arts where I studied) to the wonderful San Marco square, in the heart of the city.

The TART Trail Zone in Traverse City, Michigan by Gina M. Brown
Williamsburg, Michigan, USThe TART Trail* is a network of trails for wonderful walking, biking, rollerblading, etc. David Kirby, a local artist and high school physics teacher, led a project to install the planets in our solar system along a paved portion of the trail, to scale. The sun is located at the main library, while Pluto is near Bunker Hill Road, approximately six miles away. It really puts things in perspective when you walk that distance! Of course, a little ice cream never hurts.
*Traverse Area Recreation and Transportation Trail, or “TART” because Traverse City is a huge producer of cherries.

Lockdown Walk in Tbilisi, Georgia by Katerina Balakina
Tallinn, EEThe second lockdown hit Georgia in November. By that time, I had come to Tbilisi, the Georgian capital. The city, which dates back to about the 5th century, is full of interesting and beautiful places--Persian-influenced architecture, lopsided "Italian" courtyards, picturesque hills, and quiet, sleepy neighborhoods. With the great weather and decent coffee to go, we discovered new little routes every day. However, the walk down Rustaveli Avenue to the Old Town and back to Vake Park is my favorite.

Favourite Lockdown Walk through Tong Village in West Yorkshire, UK by dawn machell
LEEDS, West Yorkshire, GBA walk from home, discovered during the first UK lockdown when we weren't allowed to drive anywhere for exercise. Good news: the ice cream parlour was open for refreshments. Bad news: the pub was not.

Rail Corridor Walk in Singapore by teechewpaper
Singapore, SGThe Rail Corridor used to be a railway line that linked Singapore to Malaysia, its origins dates back to more than a century ago! It's now being converted into a public green space that's rich in biodiversity and history. I visited the re-opened section of the corridor on New Year's Eve with my friends and really enjoyed the morning stroll. Since we can't travel overseas now, this was a nice opportunity to rediscover Singapore and find some respite from the urban landscape.
