I have only visited Iceland once back in 2019 and honestly it was enough to know how much I would love this country. We visited Reykjavík and saw all the sights from the Hallgrimskirkja Church to the Blue Lagoon. I would definitely love to go back one day and explore the whole island. So this map represents how much beauty this country holds and the places I would love to visit one day.
Southwest desert hiking trail featuring common wildlife and plants. This is a local favorite - the bottom of the trail has a lot of people but as you climb higher you get the fantastic views all to yourself. It is state trust land and it is filled with creatures, if you are lucky enough to see them.
In the fall of 2019, I walked the Camino de Santiago from Ferrol to Santiago de Compostela (known as the Camino Ingles). Highlights included taking a detour and meeting up with friends in the Fragas Do Eume, walking before the sun rises, and making many cat friends along the way. Also just past Bruma, inexplicably, there's a dinosaur by the side of the road. It was a great experience and I would like to walk a longer pilgrimage one day.
In the early 1990s, we went on an Owl Prowl at Green Point Nature Center led by Ray Clay, a volunteer for the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge. I was amazed at Mr. Clay’s owl-calling abilities, sense of humor, and activism. Mr. Clay passed away in March of 1994. In April of 1994, the Refuge planted an ornamental plum tree on its premises in his honor. Even though Owl Prowls continue to be held, I feel very privileged that Mr. Clay was our guide.
The map shows the central part of Hemus Mountain over The Rose Valley - Valley of Ancient thracian heroes. Shows Historical monuments as megaliths, fortress, mounds and sacred places, mineral baths near, rivers, villages, forests and roads there, and rock clmbing objects.
Though the midwest has a reputation of being a corn-filled wasteland, the midwest is full of strange and creepy attractions. Pile into a car with some friends and visit some of these bone-chilling or just weird locations. You're bound to have a great time, and maybe see something you can't explain.
Death Valley was used as a background setting for the Tatooine desert of Star Wars. Many of the shooting locations remain unchanged, and an intrepid adventurer can match parts of the park to their favorite scenes!
The Grand Canyon is one of those places you just have to see in your lifetime. The beauty and scale is hard to comprehend, whether you're on the busy and hot South Rim, or on the quiet and woodsy North Rim.

One of the most beautiful countries I've been was Iceland. Happy to have visited twice and was able to drive around the country. The Diamond beach was the most beautiful place I've ever seen. With the sunset as a backdrop, it was the most breathtaking view!
