I have only visited Iceland once back in 2019 and honestly it was enough to know how much I would love this country. We visited Reykjavík and saw all the sights from the Hallgrimskirkja Church to the Blue Lagoon. I would definitely love to go back one day and explore the whole island. So this map represents how much beauty this country holds and the places I would love to visit one day.
I live in Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture in Japan. Chiba is next to Tokyo, but if you go south for about two hours, you will arrive in the idyllic countryside.
Facing the sea where surfers gather, it is a great location surrounded by mountains, rice terraces and fields. All of the pictures I have drawn here are my favorite places. A delicious vegan cafe, a farm-to-table cafe where you can eat wild herbs, a natural yeast bakery, a botanical dyeing clothes shop, a library with exciting books, and a beautiful rape field.
I live at Milan's outskirts and I love the big park that is between my town and the town next, San Donato, just before the city.
My favorite moment to be there is the early morning. There is hardly anyone, just a few people crossing the park to head somewhere. There is a small bar just in the middle of the park to enjoy a coffee or an ice cream in the summer. I love it how it is full of trees and home to rabbits and ducks. The path is 2 km long, great for clearing my head before starting the day.
I’ve been visiting Lough Key Forest Park since I was a child. It’s a truly magical place with secret tunnels, a fairy bridge, a hidden Ice House (where I imagined a witch lived!), a wishing chair and a giant Western Red Cedar tree that you can walk inside. The lake has numerous islands, one of which, Castle Island was the original home of one of the ancient kings of Ireland in the 1100s. His castle was destroyed by lightning and the castle there today was built in the early 1800s. The park also has 5 ring forts, which are fortified settlements from the Bronze Age (2000 BC). A timeless, enchanted place where I’ve spent many pleasurable days walking!
This is my usual stomping ground during lockdown, I must have done this walk over 100 times! There's not usually much to see, just the usual dog walkers, squirrels, joggers, and occasionally the odd helicopter carrying a vehicle!
The evening is the best time for a little walk, just around the corner. The streets are calm, the people are at home and (… that’s the best, I admit it …) they turn their lights on! So you can see all that little stories of live behind the windows. And our cat? Feely is always very enthusiastic at the at the start, but she remembers her personal limits quite quickly. So only some big Meows follow me and a reproachful but relieved cat waits for me at the end. So we draw together a map about our walk in honour to that all-day-pleasures. And – as in every good map – there’s an unknown territory: the reign of the Grey Cat! (One day we’ve been there … but that is a story for another map!)
Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park which is located in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia is a very pleasant location, you can go around Indonesia in just one day or even hours. There are many things that are typical of Indonesia that we can learn. Going out with family, friends, cycling or even walking is fun when you get there.
A Walk Through History. Kenley ,a small village in south London is full of beautiful woods and walks. I have lived here for the last 10 years and enjoyed this place very much. Kenley Air Field has fascinated me. Its an excellent area to walk and explore the history of Britain. This RAF Air Field was actively used until the late 1960.It played an important role in WWII and a lot of the original blast pens and bunkers still stand proudly to this day. Now this Air field and the runways are used by the Surrey Hill Gliding Club. The area around the air field is open for public use. We run, walk, jog, exercise, ride bikes ,walk the dogs and more. On a good day its perfect for a picnic.as you enjoy your sandwich and a drink you can also watch the gliders take off and land.
Chatsworth House and Gardens has many visitors from all over the country, but it also has a beautiful estate where there are many areas to walk. One of my favourite walks is along the river to Beeley village, you walk across two beautiful old bridges and then a climb up to the hilltop. From the Emperor Waterfall and the Hunting Tower you can enjoy fantastic views right across the Estate.
This map shows me and my dog's two favourite routes in my neighbourhood. We like to go up to the park on the hill where we can enjoy the whole city view. Our second favourite route is to a little creek where we can meet a lot of other dogs.
