I am a freelance illustrator and painter based in Japan.
My works are created with gouache, watercolor and colored pencil.
When I was a child, I moved from Japan to the United States, and with a language barrier, what helped me was drawing.
To me, drawing is still the best way to express my worldview and feelings.
I love the beauty of nature, all the colorful things, vegan cooking, reading books and traveling around the world to discover new inspiration.

I live in Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture in Japan. Chiba is next to Tokyo, but if you go south for about two hours, you will arrive in the idyllic countryside.
Facing the sea where surfers gather, it is a great location surrounded by mountains, rice terraces and fields. All of the pictures I have drawn here are my favorite places. A delicious vegan cafe, a farm-to-table cafe where you can eat wild herbs, a natural yeast bakery, a botanical dyeing clothes shop, a library with exciting books, and a beautiful rape field.
At the elementary particle level, we humans, animals, plants, the earth, planets, stars and galaxies are all made of almost the same material. When I learned that fact when I was a student, I was very moved by the miracle of the universe. We are definitely part of the universe. We exist in the universe, but at the same time, there is a universe inside us! This is drawn with acrylic gouache, watercolor and colored pens.
When quarantine started because of COVID-19, I decided to spend this time doing things I couldn't do very much until then.
Even in this situation, there are many things I can do in and around the house, and I was able to notice the small happiness in my life.
It was very encouraging to see how people all over the world were spending this time through their unique drawings.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful project!
