Growing up in the Canadian Prairies, temperamental extremes of weather encouraged excessive amounts of make believe, art creation, and dress-up for entertainment. From this, an enthusiastic passion for design was the logical progression of things.
Ashley enjoys creating whimsical and quirky pieces that have a sense of movement and life, often inspired by childhood memories and antique objects.

Lake Manitoba is the latest in my hand-lettered Freshwater Lake series, located in the Canadian province of Manitoba. Since the very early 1900s there have been rumors of a Nessy-like monster living in the lake which locals aptly named Manipogo :)
The next in my hand-lettered Freshwater Lake Series is Reindeer Lake. At the South end is Deep Bay, which according to local legends is the home of a monster that pulls animals through the ice to eat them during the winter!
A hand-lettered map of Lake Athabasca is the next piece in my Freshwater Lake Series! Lake Athabasca is located in the Canadian provinces Alberta and Saskatchewan, and has a world record for a lake trout caught in 1961 weighing 102 pounds! :)
