Niceville, FL, US
This place is special to me because of the time I lived there. Washington DC is known to the rest of the nation for politics, but for the locals, the upmost importance is given to happy hour and BRUNCH! Saturday and Sunday brunches happen all over the city and I wanted to share some of my favorites along with the dish they are best known for. Bon appetit!
Austin, TX, US
This place is special to me because...I just moved to Austin this summer, so it's my new neighborhood that I have enjoyed exploring through food. These are a few of my favorite breakfast spots in downtown Austin. Here it's Tacos over Burritos in the morning, and I have to say the Migas at VeraCruz are the best! My favorite trendy, chill and work places are on the west side, along with some great diners. But, the absolute best place is a bit north of downtown so I had to squeeze it in - Bird Bird Biscuit. It is worth the extra drive - get the fresh fried Queen Beak sandwich it's the best in town!
Los Angeles, California, US
My cousin Kirsten and I meet for breakfast about every three weeks. For years, we went to the same two or three places. About two years ago, we decided that we would try a new restaurant every time we went to breakfast. This map is a record of the restaurants we tried out in the past two years. The limiting factor (being Los Angeles) was traffic, so we mostly went places between our two houses in the west end of the San Fernando Valley.

Although I have been blessed with the opportunity and excitement of traveling overseas to Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia, I decided to dedicate this challenge to someplace very close to home. A place where I have spent a good deal of time (and miles) around: Northway Park in Orange, Texas. About 20 miles away from my parents’ house is a little dirt trail, 1 mile in distance, which I would (and still do) drive to for a good long run. I can’t even recall the number of miles I have run around this little park, but I have grown quite attached to it. For the landmarks I pin-pointed the 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 mile markers (as it is at Northway) but I also had a bit of fun illustrating the things that make this running trail so unique, fun, and sentimental.
I studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design and fell in love with Savannah. Exploring the city by foot became a favourite pastime after living my entire life in a place where you can barely go anywhere without a car. Savannah is the perfect place for such a pastime, what with its historic architecture, and its Southern charm where utter strangers will often exchange greetings. While I have a lot of cherished places there, my absolute favourite route goes through these three squares down in Bull St. You can find out more about this illustration in my blog.
