These beautiful, small sceneries were a highlight in my trip to Porto. The city offers stunning views and breathtaking bridges, but walking next to the locals and their small houses is, in my opinion, just as good. Starting somewhere along Rua da Bainharia and finding your way into the small streets is the key, just look for narrow roads, colourful walls and lots of houses!
This was one of my favourite walks and stuff to do when I was living in London. You can do the walk in an hour or so...if you walk fast, or you can make it into a whole day thing by visiting some of the museums, sitting in the park, indulging in the buzz around Harrods and spending your last pennies at the cafe's on Walton Street.
I proudly introduce my hometown Aachen to you. It is in the very west of Germany, right at ther border to Belgium and the Netherlands.
In the center is the Emperor Cathedral that had been built in the late 8th Century. It is surrounded by other historical buildings like the roman columns in the "Hof", or the Elisenbrunnen, a fountain with healing water. Aachen is full of fountains and monuments, like this of the little girl with the great "Printe" a Gingerbread from Aachen.
