| Footnote: | Mastic/Mastic Beach/Shirley is a hidden gem for all summertime activities. Enjoy fishing, swimming, tanning, boating, crabbing, surfing, rowing...pretty much anything beach/sealife related that involves a "ing" at the end. If you're lucky enough to win a camping spot for the week of July 4th (the spaces sell out in seconds early December 3rd) you're in prime location for watching fireworks over The Bay. For food, avoid "fast food alley" at all costs and opt for the local stops. Ice cream cottage, Mike's place, TJ's and Nino's have been around for forever and are much loved. Also check out Frank & Son's Italian bakery and Mama Lisa's pizzeria(their grandma pizza is amazing!) on Montauk Highway. |
