This map covers the Swiss half of Lake Geneva or Lac Lèman. It stretches from the city of Geneva in the west, with the Headquarters of the UN and Red Cross and the amazing Hadron Collider, buried underground at CERN. At the eastern end of the lake is Montreux with its music festival and statue of Freddie Mercury and the beautiful, lakeside Chateau de Chillon. In the centre of the lake is Lausanne, home to the Olympics and the Chateau de Vufflens. This clip is part of a much larger map of the whole of Switzerland and is a unique combination of painting and sculpture, with all the details hand carved from balsa wood and painted with acrylic.
